Trout Lake Men’s Rec League

Music and Lyrics David Storey – SOCAN December 2016

Scored a goal last night in the Trout Lake men’s Rec league.
Took a pass from Long Shot Larry then I split their D.
Crossed their blue line, wind in my face and the game on my stick.
The only thing standing between me and glory was Buttsy with his glove hand so quick.

And the moon shone bright on my little corner of the world.
Snowflakes danced across my back.
And the river’s been frozen for six or seven weeks now.
If you listen closely you can hear it crack.

Stewby Cooter chased me down with his taped-up gloves and his toothless grin.
So I made like Mario and slipped the rubber between his shins.
Then I cut to the middle and I let a wrister fly.
Bounced in top shelf, up stairs where the peanut butter hides

And the moon shone bright on my little corner of the world.
Snowflakes danced across my back.
And the river’s been frozen for six or seven weeks now.
If you listen closely you can hear it crack.

Someday this rivers gonna melt, and everything will wash away.
Right now it’s frozen tight and I just want to play.

Big captain Matt , he skated up and tapped me on the bum.
He said hey Sergei were the hell did that come from.

And the moon shone bright on my little corner of the world.
Snowflakes danced across my back.
And the river’s been frozen for six or seven weeks now.
If you listen closely you can hear it crack.
